In Santa Rosa, Misiones province, a 60-year-old businessman was shot dead during an attempted robbery. The victim has been identified as José Suzuki. He was on his property, which consists of five cabins, when he noticed suspicious individuals on Violeta de los Alpes street around 1 AM. He alerted a security guard via WhatsApp about the supposed delinquents. As Suzuki approached to investigate, the suspects began firing shots. He was struck in the chest and rushed to Marta Schwarz Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from hypovolemic shock, according to the Argentine News Agency. Investigators reported that the projectile, believed to be from a 9mm caliber weapon, entered the victim's chest and exited his back. Forensic police collected three spent casings and one .22 caliber cartridge at the scene. Officers from the Fourth Precinct of the Regional Unit V also seized lead of the same caliber. Suzuki's wife, a 55-year-old Chinese citizen, stated she was sleeping when she heard the gunshots and ran to the area where her husband had fallen. He reportedly told her, "There were four masked thugs." Judge Martín Brites of Puerto Iguazú is awaiting the preliminary report from the Fourth Precinct to clarify the facts. The businessman, originally from Buenos Aires City and residing in Iguazú, was the head of a dispatch and package delivery firm called Crucero Cargo.
